Jenny McCarthy, vaccines, autism

If you're implying she's stupid because she spoke out against vaccinations causing autism, then I suggest you educate yourself on the subject. That's not a stupid belief. In fact, it's grounded in much science. Yes, for every study you post that negates it, I can post an equal number of studies that affirms the position.

If you're implying she's stupid for another reason, then fine.

For years, the cornerstone of the anti-vaccine crowd's beliefs was that thimerosal caused autism. Since that preservative was removed, autism rates have gone UP.

So now they say it must be something ELSE in the vaccines, or it's the combination of too many vaccines, but it just HAS to be the fault of the vaccines.

That's not science.

We have a kid on my campus- life skills kid-- who's got Austism, but he's not very functional-- no words, little communication, etc. He was perfectly normal until he was three. Went to bed one night, everything was fun. Woke up the next morning completely out of it, never spoke again, and has remainded the way he is now.

What makes a perfectly normal kid change overnight? I don't know.... I think parents who expirience this want to know what went wrong w/ their kids,. I don't think vac's are it, but SOMETHING is definately going on...

My little sister has an autistic child, and she has tried to blame vaccines, the water, and too much lead in the house. Parents, like her, will seek all kinds of treatments for their sick kids. I feel their pain. I tried researching the topic for her last year, and the science is not yet settled.
