Yeah I don't even think Anakin was in the room when Windu kicked Palpatine in the face and sent his saber flying out the window. He was clearly hamming it up when he was getting fried by his own lightning, but I think Mace beat him straight up.
 
A comment about the stormtroopers getting their asses kicked by the Ewoks:

A short time prior to this, the first Death Star was destroyed. The Death Star was the Empire's big project, and working there would be a fast track to promotion for the best and brightest in the stormtrooper ranks. The benefits of being an integral part of the Emperor's pet project far outweighed the risks of getting blown up by the rebels (which they hardly considered a threat at the time) or the risk of getting choked out by Vader or the Emperor. So all the best up and coming stormtroopers were there and were killed.

Also, the Emperor would of course put all his best generals and NCO's on the Death Star to oversee the construction, like Grand Moff Tarkin, etc. These guys were also killed when the Death Star went up.

Bottom line, the stormtroopers lost all of their best guys when the first Death Star went down and were left with a bunch of new recruits and losers. I don't find it too surprising that the stormtrooper's got their asses kicked by an enemy that had undoubtedly been watching them for as long as they had been there, was much more familiar with the terrain, and had numerical superiority.
 
So was Kit Fisto played by the guy at the bottom?

You all seem to forget that it was a 4-on-1 fight, not just Mace vs. Palpatine, and those three other Jedi didn't make it home that day.

I find it hard to believe Palpatine let his face get fried by lightning as a way of getting Anakin to attack Mace and turn to the dark side. Did you see what he looked like after that? Without the help of mind-control tricks, the dude was never going to get laid again.
 
I've heard it said that that's actually Palpatine's real face, and that his "other" one was just a mask he used to climb the political ladder.
 
ya ive heard that also, but again i have no proof or clue how to find it... so in my little world he was just toying with mace...
 
again, going back to the book, essentially the use of force lightning is hard on the body. With the amount of enegy that Palaptine put into it, it effectively began to melt his bones and flesh. That's why he couldn't continue to use it against Mace until he had a bit of rest. It's made very clear that he is a human, though he uses the dark side to eventually try to extend his life.

It also makes clear that he doesn't give a **** what he looks like. The only thing that concerns him is more power.
 
force lightning requires a large amount of atp. normally, palpatine carries around a bunch of hammer gels, but he didn't get the chance to use them in his fight with mace windu.

but wait wtf our away uniforms are all white stormies and we are kinda big and badass like the evil empire.. oh im confused...
