JB

That is not a good source.

He is playing in pickup games, but that's it. He can't enroll until he makes it through the clearinghouse.

Clearinghouse determines if UT (or any school) can offer him a scholarship. If he could pay his own way, I guess he could go to class and play.

The clearinghouse determines more than just scholarship eligiblity. At the Division 1 level, you cannot play in a game or even practice with the team until you get through the clearinghouse. That applies to walk-ons just as it applies to full scholarship athletes.

J'Covan Brown is NOT currently enrolled in school, and since last Thursday was the final day to add classes for Summer II, he will not be enrolled in school until fall, if then. Trust me, when and if he finally gets cleared, it will be all over the Statesman and other relevant media outlets. Until then, anybody who says this guy is in school is full of crap.

It's not a matter of "running out of time." It's a matter of, if he's going to be passed by the clearinghouse, right before, or even a little after school starts, is going to be when he'll be cleared.

I've been saying the same thing for months, now. It's the same thing they do with kids all across the country with screwed up transcripts like J'Covan's.
