Jaxon Shipley

Congrats!

Those are fast hurdles times. For kicks, I looked up what Jamaal Charles was running in his senior year during the season, and lots of times he was over 14 for the 110 and in the 37s for the 300. (By state, he was 13.6/36.0.) He was world class super fast, of course. So, a 14.5 and a 38.4 during the season is pretty dang fast for Shipley.

Now, the whole field on the long jump is 3-4 feet behind Marquise Goodwin's national HS record...(!)

Not sure you need to worry about Jaxon's straight line speed. If he's got Jordan's smarts and moxie, he'll do just fine. Jordan wasn't a burner, but he could shake free of even the best defenders because he ran good routes and had the quickness to turn guys around. I would guess Jaxon will be more of the same, but hopefully sans injuries.

Jaxon looks a little more muscular than Jordan did at this juncture. He's pretty rough over the hurdles, but he'll get better if he sticks with it. I would say he's a little faster in straight line speed, but doesn't have the jitterbug that Jordan had. Either way, he's going to be a good receiver at the next level

I don't have 1st hand info, but my understanding was that Jaxon is likely a shade slower than Jordan. Or, better, Jordan is slightly faster than Jaxon!

Burnet and Graham did not play. Burnet and Brownwood did play, but Jaxon was out with a broken collarbone. B'wood and Graham did play and the Lions got the best of the Steers. It's hard to say who is the fastest. They both run different races. I think Jordan had some FAT in the mid to upper 10's for 100 meters. We also saw that his 40 times at the combine and pro day were not as fast as some thought they would be.

Jordan and Malcolm Williams had practically identical 100m times in State. Jordan was/is one fast dude. I admit that the knee injury probably slowed him a bit, but by his last year, being more physically mature at 26 probably evened that out.

look, i don't even want to contemplate a slightly bigger, faster, more developed jordan shipley. if jaxon can come in and stay healthy, meld with the offense, and be anything like close to his brother in accomplishment, i will jump with glee. i don't even want to contemplate him bigger, faster, or more developed.

i have read that jaxon is a great route runner. can't imagine he wouldn't be. how good are his hands? anybody know? jordan is amazing. is jaxon anything like similar?
