Javon Walker found unconscious on Vegas street

Raider fans will go a long way to free up some cap space.

On a serious note, that intersection is a couple blocks off The Strip. I doubt JW was a pedestrian when he was assaulted. I'd wager he was kidnapped and dumped there later.

I can't answer that, but as a 1999 owner of Rae Carruth I can tell you that it doesn't help your fantasy roster at all when a starting WR gets pinched for the shooting of his pregnant chick...

Sean Taylor's salary was paid to his family as if he paid. They did not have to do that. In addition, all proceeds from sales of his jerseys and merchandise goes to his child in a college account or trust. (something like that).

I don't know to what extent the NFL rules dictate things are handled but the way the Redskins did it raises the bar bigtime for other teams to follow and I hope they do. The entire staff of the organization, everybody, got the day off and a plane flight for the funeral, with pay. All was paid for. That is special.

I assume a team has no responsibilty to pay a dead players salary. The player would and should have life insurance, injurty insurance and a host of other things if their agent and accountants are worth a dime.

This is absolutely horrible news. I had the pleasure of meeting Javon last year. I had shoulder surgery and was doing my rehab in Houston. Javon was at the same place doing his knee rehab. I can tell you that he is a super nice guy, and I think by the time he left every single person at that place was a huge Javon walker fan. I really hope he is okay.

I was sure they mentioned it - they may have edited the street out because I believe they said Koval and Winnik. It's about three or four blocks off the strip near a bunch of abandoned/torn down old houses. It's definitely not one of the more scenic blocks in the area. (Assuming that's where he was.)

Further searching reveled he was found near the "Summer Bays Resort" which is a complex right behind Imperial Palace/Bill's Gambling Hall. So I'm guessing he was taken coming out of Bill's, or maybe he picked up some strange at Drai's that was leading him "to her place". I don't know (we need to get Grisom on the case)

yeah, if you're getting crunk in the club till 6am, you're probably not too sober and your senses aren't 100% Probably should have a bodyguard....

Damn! Just because the guy was having a good time at a club doesn't make him in any way responsible for being robbed and brutally beaten! Quit acting like it was somehow his fault for having a good time or not having a bodyguard. That's like saying that she deserved to be raped because she was wearing such a short skirt. Remember, this is the poor guy who had Darrent Williams bleed to death in his arms while with the Broncos. Cut him some slack.

Hope he has a good and healthy recovery and that he becomes more aware of his surroundings, but man people are getting alot bolder these days, robbing atheletes????

...and fairly muscular, athletic ones too. I sure as hell wouldn't mess with ANY NFL player. well, maybe kickers.
Walker must have been shitfaced.

Hope he wakes him up that this kind of behavior leads to **** like this happening... Why carry all that cash?

Debit card works fine for me and I haven't had any problems.
Just like driving on 24 inch rims. You are opening yourself up to trouble.

He was in Vegas. Lots of people carry that kinda cash in Vegas. If there was ever a town where normal people would be likely to carry around a thousand + dollars it'd be Vegas. I'm actually surprised he was only carrying $3000 in cash. That's barely tip money compared with what he was spending on drinks.
