Jason Peter: Mack Brown called

listening to riveting story on Rome today. Jason Peter is furious that Notre Dame completely ignored his brother Damien's tragic injury (practically paralyzed) leaving him unable to play college ball. Railing against Lou Holtz for never calling even after mentioning him as his top recruit earlier.
Peter goes on to say how horrible it was that nobody from Notre Dame cared, but how "Mack Brown even called".
Very, very coool, Mack.

Why does this not surprise me? Even after the recent years of mediocrity, notre dame thinks there are still with elite status.

Mack Brown never ceases to amaze me with the class and just plain old manners he possesses. We could all learn a lot from Coach.

Lou Holtz is the biggest snake-oil salesman college football has ever seen.

I don't recall anything about Damien Peter or his accident. Was he a recruit, a verbal, or was he already on the ND campus? If Jason is mad at Lou, this must have been quite a few years ago.

Maybe so, but Jason calling someone out for personal conduct is a largish bit of pot meet kettle considering his big brother's behaviour. Like I said, I'll listen to Jason on Hotlz and 'class' when Jason has dedicated the same or greater scorn to his brother Christian and outright despicable criminal behaviour (rape, battery). if Jason wants to call people out in public, he should start with Christian.

Most all of us know that head coaches can be scumbags and snake oil salesmen. I don't need Jason for that.

The crappy thing is the youngest brother never getting to play cfb and beyond. I truly hate it for him.

actually, the real point of my post (maybe not the story itself) is that mack brown is a genuine person who had he not called would not have been missed. the fact that he did so and that it is only public knowledge because of jason mentioning it on the air makes it a very special gesture.
i get down on mack's x's and o's quite often. i will need to remind myself of the more important things in the future.
