Jennings is terrible. However, alot of this team is unwatchable right now with the mental errors. Went to the game yesterday and tonight only to see some really bad baseball.

Yesterday, (and I love Kinsler), Ian was going through the motions, jogging around the bases when Rios dropped a flyball. He should have scored, but was stopped at third because he was not hustling. Blalock hit a ball that he thought was gone only to hit the wall--he got a single b/c he "Mannied" the ball--admiring it until he realized there was a chance it might not go out. They got a runner in the bottom of the 10th to 3rd with NO outs and coudlnt even muster a sac fly to tie the game.

Tonight, the ball Byrd left get by him cost the Rangers some runs. We have a couple of errors or at least mental errors every single game. Bad baseball, thats it.

and Hamilton didn't throw to cut off man only tossed it into Young when he saw Vlad stop at 3rd. Vlad then easily scored.

I would take Jennings out of the rotation and bring Feldman back to take his spot.

Since the season has started the Rangers have the made the following plays happen:

1. Fail to score a leadoff triple.
2. J Hamilton doesn't hit cutoff man that leads to Vlad scoring
3. Several guys not running out balls
4. On ball hit to Broussard both Ben B and the Asian pitcher go to the ball and V Wells gets an INF single.
5. We had a catcher (Zaun I think for Tor) score from 3rd on a double steal.

These, my friends, are signs of a poorly managed and coached team. I am all about giving Wash the benefit of the doubt but ******* mental errors and lack of fundamentals are inexcusable.

Catalanotto didn't come up with the V Wells 2B the other night and while it was a tough play why the **** is he still out there. His defense is a HUGE liability and it's not like his offense is great. You accept defense like that from Manny Ramirez but if F Cat isn't hitting get someone in there who can play defense. Give younger guys or D Murphy the job outright.

Our FA signing relief pitcher from Japan isn't good enough to stay on the team through ******* April?

Sickening. It's April and we've dropped 4 straight at home. Hello Texas Rangers.

Jason Jennings just moved to the top of my most hated players list. The guy is pulling 4 million this year

My theory: Jennings is overthrowing the **** out of his sinker, causing it to level off. He was pitching well at 83-85 in spring training and that's what he was around in his start against Seattle. But he has been 88-89 the last two starts and he is getting his **** ripped.

That, and he doesn't have good command of his offspeed stuff. At all.

Frustrating because everyone expected the Rangers to be a mediocre team this year, but even more frustrating when they are losing with good pitching performances plus Jennings getting shelled every time out.

Well, look at the bright side. At least Jennings is out of Houston and unable to screw up the Astros rotation any worse - he and Woody Williams were the all-time worst pair that anyone picked up. Why the Rangers picked up JJ is beyond me.

2 more errors today (Young and Milwood) and Kinsler getting picked off? This defense just keeps on getting better and better...Were up 3-0, now tied 4-4.

That play that Cat did not make against Vernon Wells was pretty bad indeed.....he is not fast, tall, agile, or does not have a speck of athletic ability (Rudy) and therefore could not make what was a slightly above routine play.

Ranger mgmt. better be prepared to say that Millwood is going to the DL - otherwise they have NO excuse for taking their best pitcher out after 5 innings.

If there is an injury to Millwood why wouldn't they announce something to the Press - hell, I'd want to do that muy pronto so I don't look like the stupidest game manager around.

crowd was none too pleased with that performance, nor the overall homestand. boo's rained down upon the rangers as Botts looked at a beautiful K-Rod bb on the outside corner for the final strike.

DOUBLE-YOU TEE EFF was hamilton thinking trying to take 2nd base there. I sure hope it was the first base coach and not him that made that call (first base coaches are less valuable than starting CF's). but based on his laziness last night missing the cut off man, i imagine he was 'just trying to make a play.'

Ron Washington was supposed to be mister fundamentals and we've gone from ****** fundamentals to the worst I've seen in years. I've tried to like him and we showed something late last year but his grace period is over.

AT LEAST once per series mike scocia will do something to ***** RW.

O/U on game # before Ron Washington gets fired:

I have that he will get fired after game # 50. This team simply cannot go on being this fundamentally unsound. You cannot be a major league baseball team and look like this. Its one thing getting beat playing hard, not making dumb errors, but just getting outmatched. Its another thing when you are flat out beating yourself with mistakes that players have worked on since little league.

Couldn't agree more on Mr. Fundamentals and the 50 games. I think they truly want him to succeed. But, if his team continues to play like that, they'll have no choice but to fire him. What the hell were they doing in Spring Training? I thought Washington was going to improve the infield play at a minimum and it seems that's not happening.

Hopefully it'll be what Grieve said it is..."just a bad stretch." If they don't get back on track, they're going to lose what few fans they still have.

This thread is so depressing. I hate being a Rangers fan. I said back sometime in February that I was going to finally do it. I was going to divoce them but I decided against it. They are my team. I don't want to cheer for any other team. I can't cheer for any other team. It's just not in me. I love baseball so I don't want to just quit watching altogether but damn this is just dreadful. So I will continue being a Rangers fan and I will continue to hate life whenever these guys play.

Here's my question. Are the Rangers just one of those doomed franchises that will forever suck ala the Cardinals in football? I think that's who we are. We are seriously the worst franchise in the majors. That is so freaking depressing. The only franchise that can even compete for that title is the D Rays.

well...except they're only the Rays.

they sucked so badly they had to change their name. maybe Rangers can do the same...the Strangers, the Cowboys, the Range Chickens, the Gers, the Gerbils, the Hicks, the Toms...
