Jarvis Humprey

I see that Keeston Randall is projected to get more playing time this weekend vs. Rice.

Anyone know about our other true freshman DT, Jarvis Humprey.

He was a 4 star DT (5th best in the nation according to Rivals), and I figured that he would also be receiving playing time.

Anyone know anything?

He's the 4th string Nose Tackle, so unless there is an injury I would not expect him to play much if at all. While he has the size to play NT now, at the open practices it was pretty obvious from his appearance that he is way behind Alexander and Wilcoxon in terms of strength. He is about an inch taller than Alexander, but his muscle development is way behind. There were reports that he dropped down to 260 last year, so he may need to take a redshirt year to work on that.

Randall on the other hand is the only prototypical 3 technique DT on the roster so it isn't much of a surprise that he is getting a early shot at playing time. He could use a year in the weight room too, but we need help now.
