Thanks for the info. While I'm close to Odessa, I'm on a drilling rig and can't make it but would appreciate updates on how James is performing. One of my all time favorite Horns.

JB is one of my favorite Horns ever. Best of luck too him

I've never seen a more ball-sy effort by a Texas athlete than Brown's performance against A&M in 95. His ankle was swollen the size of a tennis ball, but he went out anyway and did what was necessary to get that win.

I felt awful that James had to suffer through such a crappy senior season that tarnished an otherwise stellar career as a Longhorn. I loved me some James Brown.

The guy had his hand in some of the great moments of the 90s.

OU 1994 17-10
Hooterville 1995 16-6
St Louis 1996 37-27

The man has the heart of a champion. Wish him all of the best of luck. Please keep us updated.

Loved the win over Husker in the inagural Big 12 Championship. THAT was a ballsy performance by Brown and Company.

P.S. Company didn't include Mackovic.

People bash John Mac and often times rightly so. He had his flaws. But he did coach and orchestrate a lot of great memories. The Husker game was just one of them. If you enjoy that memory it is only fair to give him the credit he is due for it.

He brought us Ricky. Want to say it was just Bucky? Okay, who hired Bucky? See how that works? A coach takes the blame and the accolades. He may be persona non grata but don't forget he had good things to tout as well.

I am so glad we have Mack Brown. I would not trade him for any other coach in the land. I am glad JM is not here in his place. But I give him his due.

his hit, "hot tub" is one i'll NEVER forget.

JB was the truth.... nay

is the truth

He IS the hardest workin' man in show business, the godfather of soul, and not to mention, one of the toughest, and best Horns ever. Here's to JB having a great time quarterbacking the 'Cudas.

In reply to:

"maybe WE'LL win the game by three touchdowns!"

This is always the first thing I think of when I hear his name, see his photo or think of him. Damn, NOBODY thought JB and Texas could or would beat mighty Nebraska in December 1996. JB goes out and leads the Horns to a huge, decisive upset 37 - 27 victory.... of course he was off on his prediction of winning by 21, it was only 10
