Why hasnt Lucas seen the floor more than his 8 min/game in conference play? I dont even think he played at all tonight. Is he hurt? in Barnes doghouse?

This kid was a McDs all-american and made the all SEC freshman team. He is a good FT shooter (72% while at florida) and a very good 3 pt shooter. He probably has a pretty good basketball IQ considering who his dad is.
He may not be the defender Balbay is but he is a offensive threat who has the talent to contribute significantly at this level.
When he transferred, i honestly thought that he would be in the starting lineup by conference play.

someone please enlighten me...
 
He's played the worst of all the guards in the games I've seen him in. Decent defense, poor ball handling, and seems afraid to shoot. He just doesn't look comfortable yet. Minutes might help, but usually you have to earn minutes.
 
Besides the game with 6 3s, Lucas hasn't done anything merit being on the court more. And at Mizzou would be the absolute worst place to give him more minutes. He gets trapped by teams that don't run the trap nearly as well as the Tigers. He might have single-handedly doubled our turnovers last night if he played serious minutes.
 
Lucas would have been bad, bad, bad against Mizzou. Tiller and Tayler would have torn him apart. Lucas is way too small and weak to break a violent press like that. God that would have been ugly. He probably wouldn't have been able to get open on an inbounds pass after Mizzou scored.
 
Lucas is not a player. He does not look for the pass, just dribbles and drives,... puts up an out of control shot.

Have no idea why we signed him . He likes to play on on five.... just like Brown. Neither guy has seen a shot they didn't like.
 
When Lucas has been in he has
a) dribbled around in circles and did not get any penetration
b) turned the ball over
c) missed shots
he doesnt score, doesn't defend and doesn't create
I hope that there is an injury that they are not telling us about. Thank goodness he is not one of our scholarship players.
