5-7 from 3 point range. Man. I know it was V. Gardner Webb, but still. I had a feeling he would be a legitimate perimeter threat this year. Just one more hired gun for Ricky B.
With that kind of shooting, I think playing him, Brown, and Bradley at the same time might be an option on occasion, especially at the end of games and/or if Hamilton's game isn't goin'.
If the other team goes zone a lineup of Lucas, Brown, Hamilton, James, and Pittman would be excellent. Just keep Pittman down on the block and have the 4 shooters on the perimeter. The three guards can make it rain, plus James is good enough to keep them honest.
Bradley had a HORRIBLE game against Gardner-Webb. He looked worse than Mason, which is hard to imagine if you weren't there. And even more scary, he had the Mason dearth-of-confidence syndrome. Barnes needs to go up to him and say, "Look, you were the number 1 freakin' ranked player in the country. You are an absolute monster. It's time to start playing like both. Be aggressive, be confident, stop deferring, and kick some ***!"
Lucas has been getting decent minutes. I think this will go up further as well.
It will be interesting to see the balance on how much Barnes play Balbay or Lucas. Lucas provides an outside shot but he is not the defender the Balbay is. I can't really see Barnes running them both on the court at the same time very often due to the size you give up. This is such a fun team to watch. I am wondering how much longer Mason starts. He hasn't been shooting well from 3. He hasn't been scoring much.
