Gus Johnson just said that is a rumor. Huh? Izzo is from Michigan, not far from MSU. Why would he leave there?
 
no way he leaves....btw, who was the idiot doing the color commentating on that game? He made some of the stupidest comments in the last 5 minutes of the game I have ever heard.

That was Len Elmore. He's usually ok, but I was thinking the same thing and practically screaming at my TV because of some of his stupid comments.
 
By the way, #15 for KU tripped over a MSU player. He clipped his foot on the guys calf and that is why he then in turn hit his own calf.

Not a fan of Elmore. He's ok but not great.
 
Gus Johnson is so much better that he almost puts Elmore to shame. Not as bad as the idiot, Duke dick-loving neanderthal Clark Kellog though. I actually want Packer back (man, I can't believe I'm saying that...).
 
Az AD was surprisingly candid and said they will review the situation. Even the wife who was sitting there was like, well that guy's not coming back.

Forde thought they needed to and will bring in someone from the outside.

That team getting it together to make the sweet 16 earned that guy a job somewhere, if not Az.
 
I don't think Pennell did a bad job, but he didn't do anything special with them, either. Basically the same kind of team they've had the last couple of years, with, as GSJ notes, a good draw.

I think Utah was in a bad spot... maxed out, you might say. They were going to have to play really well to play to demonstrate that they earned their seed. Arizona had more talent and had absolutely nothing to lose.

Pennell probably can leverage this into a mid-major job -- something better than AAU, anyway.
