He was one of my son's favorite players. I really hope he finds the answer.

I have heard from people that lived in Philly when he played there that he was the biggest jerk to fans and kids. He refused to sign autographs unless he was getting paid for it. Guess he needed the money though.

He has always struck me as kind of a punk. However, I hope he realizes his mistakes and turns his life around before he hurts himself or his family more seriously.

The constant stories of athletes with serious personal issues and legal problems are a reminder that it is ridiculous to set them up as role models just because there are athletes. Occasionally athletes come along who make good role models like David Robinson, Kurt Warner, etc., but these are few and far between.
