iTunes to CD

I recently opened an iTunes account and purchased a few songs. I would like to transfer them to an audio CD that can be played on my home or car CD pl;ayer. I'm having problems.....the iTunes help person from Apple says it's easy to do, yet when I try to transfer the playlist, after initializing, I get an error message (#2660, unknown origin) and the burn is cancelled.

Can anyone here help me with this?

Funny, I just burned a CD on iTunes mere minutes ago without trouble.

So it initializes the disc but then stops before burning anything? How many times have you tried it? Perhaps it was a bad disc? What options are you selecting when burning. What type of computer are you on (Mac or PC?)

Thanks for responding.

I'm using a Dell PC, Vista OS. I've tried burning the playlist to CD 4 or 5 times with the same result: it initializes, then cancels the burn, reporting error #2660. The CD is a new one, from Office Depot, labeled CD-RW 700 MB. The only thing I've noticed is that my playlist doesn't have a title, but I can't figure out how to give it a name (don't even know if it's necessary to be named).

Any ideas?

Also, the only options presented to me was burn speed. Default was fastest possible, which I tried at first, but was cancelled. I then tried 4x and 1x, with same result.

Is the error from itunes or from your computer. A google search didn't turn up any itunes errors for that code, so maybe your drive's not working or something? Can you burn other stuff, such as data files?

I'm on an Apple, so I don't know how different my itunes is than yours. I don't need to name a playlist. I just make a playlist, put the files in, and then click "Burn Disc" at the lower right hand side. Then I select "Audio CD" and click "Burn" and away it goes. It is fairly simple, so I'm thinking it's either a disc problem, or a drive problem.

Have you tried updating your itunes software? (Sorry I can't be better help)

Are you trying to burn as CD-audio or mp3? I got that error once for CD-audio when my playlist was too long.

ACuriae:

I was on CD-Audio, and the playlist was only 4 songs. I'll try a one-song playlist and see if that works. Thanks.

Halsteadfrost:
The error #2660 also said something like "unknown origin". The Apple techsupport people have passed the buck to another site. The CD is new (unused) and the drive is also new--this is first time I've tried burning anything to it. I'll try data files. Thanx.
