I downloaded the iTunes update last night and after rebooting iTunes has "lost" my music, podcasts, etc. Did anyone else have this problem after yesterday's update or does anyone know how to fix it?
go into where Itunes stores your master iTunes music files (my folder is my music folder) and just drag that folder into the music section of Itunes. it should load everything back up
What version of iTunes did you download. I haven't updated recently - the version I have installed is 7.5.0.20 - but I've been having this problem. But it seems to only lose part of the library. Today, I had to reload Vivaldi: 4 seasons, Dire Straits: Making Movies, & Silly Wizard:Wild and Beautiful. Everything else played fine.
Sii, thanks for the tip - that'll be a lot quicker than right-clicking on every song and searching for it.
Two days ago I was prompted to install 7.6 and that's what caused the issue.
What Sii suggested worked but all of my podcasts came over as music after syncing to the iPod. Everything looks right on iTunes but the iPod Podcast menu doesn't recognize them.
Downloaded the new version. Didn't have a problem finding the library, but when I synced up today there was a small issue.
It didn't sync everything.
Recommendation: Connect the iPod, then sync. Once you sync, click the black arrow on the left side of the iPod on your iTunes folder. You can see what has moved over. (I'm not talking about the library on your computer's hard drive - just what you see on the iTunes screen)
If anything needs a checkmark, check it in the iPod file and iTunes file if necessary.
Hit sync again. See if everything is there. If not sync again.
I had to do this 3 times to get everything "new" over to the iPod.
After playing with the Pocast sync options many times (the setting wasn't saving) and syncing a few times it's working correctly now. Thanks for the help.
