Its past time for Bradley to go

The US stumbles in this years Gold Cup following the massacre by the Spanish is yet another exhibit in the long list of evidence why Bradley is just not the man for the US national team.

Watching them lose to Panama and score 1 freaking goal against Guadeloupe should be it.

Look the US is not a top world power but we should be a regional one and more should be expected than what Bradley is capable of delivering. So long as US Soccer stays with him this is going to be the norm.

I'd like to get rid of both Bradley's. The coach should have never been hired but certainly he should have been relieved after the world cup. I also do not understand his player selections. The two strikers Altidore and Wondolowski are terrible. They can't reate for ****. Altidore's two goals have been lucky. Give freaking Agudelo a shot. There are a 1/2 dozen strikers in MLS alone that are better than these guys. And what the hell is Bradley doing playing in place of Edu. Edu is a creator, great passer and scorer. Howard is a good goaltender, Dempsey had a terrible game but he is a quality player.

We will have a really tough time beating Jamaica. We have real problems with fast teams. Mexico would beat us by 3 right now the way we are playing.

I am in agreement from the WC qualifying through to the loss of Panama (even though there was a good 2-3 streak in the Confederations Cup). The team doesn't start well and the central defense looks lost whenever there is pressure put on them. Those are things that a coach can change.

Over the last 2 games Guadaloupe and 1st half Jamaica, they have started well and played very well in the midfield. The central defense is still sketchy.

I would put scoring goals on the players. They are getting chances. The passing is good. Everything up to the shot is good. But no one has enough of "it" to bury the shot. I don't know if you can blame Bradley for that.

And Edu isn't playing because he has been terrible any time he plays for the national team. He has played weak and slow so far.

According to a friend of mine who ran track in the Olympics (for Trinidad), the US will not be a major player in soccer until the structure of the sport changes here. While more and more kids are playing soccer here, it is still somewhat of an elitist sport that requires money for traveling squads. It isn't played in the inner cities and as such we are only pooling from a rather small group of athletes. In order to become elite we need a way to get lower middle class and lower class kids to play. And according to my friend, no Olympic coach is going to change this.

I will have to admit that Bradley showed some real cojones not starting Donovan yesterday when a loss would all but certainly have led to his being canned. The 2-0 win preserves his job at least through this weekend when Mexico may well take the opportunity to stomp the Yanquis while they are down and finally put an end to the Bradley error.

The USA is currently 35th in the world rankings and dropping fast, that is unacceptable. A year ago it all fell right and the USA had a real shot at a quarterfinal berth in the W/C how far we have fallen in just 12 months.

Unfortunately US Soccer is fat and happy right now and the impetus for change wont come until either the US doesnt qualify for the 2014 Cup or a few more embarassing Panama type performances happen.

I agree to a point, if the US utilized all of its talent available, we would be on the level of a germany/brazil/argentina/spain. Regardless, we do have the talent to be a top 10 team in the world imo right now.

It's not the just the talent to pick from. We lack guile and technique. Talking with Dutch trainers, they are amazed by our athleticism, fitness, and nutrition. We are the benchmark in those areas.

We have a problem identifying talent and pushing it. In golf and tennis, we have kids at ledbetter and img academies at age 12 b/c those are adolescent sports. In soccer, we play club and college soccer which is a very low level. Internationally, kids are part of pro club academies by then.

We just started having mls academy teams. Those will help. I actually read an article expressing consternation about the academies' impact on college soccer. Talk about a giant "who cares".

Take a look at the roster of players for the u17 Worl Cup. 9 of the players are either on professional contracts or on MLS academy teams.

This is more promising than the same situation 5 years ago, so some progress is being made.

1-0 revenge win over Panama last night was singularly unimpressive. This team is heading toward a woodshedding by Mexico this weekend.
