Your interview with the President

It's amazing watching Obama talk in-depth about all aspects, ranging from jobs, education, job-training and so on. Can you imagine the previous occupant of the WH in this situation?!

While Palin is calling Mitt "Stalinesque" with her unmistakable eloquence (

), Mitt is linking Newt to Fannie Mae, and Newt is going apesh!t on

Mitt's offshore accounts, it's comforting to know that we have a President who has a clear vision for the future and the means to build an economy to last.

First question, "I am taking 15 credit hours and I work a 40 hour week, but I am barely getting by. Will you promote a "living wage" to people like me?"

First of all, hats off to the young man. Keep on keeping on. After you get your accounting degree, you will still be just getting by. However, good news is that if you work hard, keep educating yourself, and live within your means (do not run up unnecessary credit), you will likely one day be very successful.

However, if you expect that the government will pay you more just because you are barely getting by, tough ****. It is the experience you are going through now that will likely differentiate you from others later.

BHO is very personable and engaging, however, he needs not act like he is Santa Claus. There is no magic gifts coming because you have been nice rather than naughty.

Let's put it this way, hornpharmd: If this thread were a triage unit for koolaid overdoses, the docs would be writing Roger35 off as a goner and moving on to someone they thought had a chance.

It says something that Roger is blown away by the "indepth" discussion of Obama explaining things at a high school level. A bunch of general statements and policy talking points now equates to an amazing grasp of the economy.

Wow... he just blamed unemployment of civil engineers in the idea that we're not rebuilding enough of our infrastructure. By that logic, out of work actors are in trouble because we're not filming enough public service message advertisements.

He clearly does his homework, he's in touch with his people, and he's able to talk about a lot of things. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing his breadth of information from his staff.

He "saved the auto industry" - despite the auto bailout originating under Bush. That's good stuff... If you line up guys with the right questions, it also helps to make a good interview.

"Love him or hate him, I can't imagine many prior occupants of the White House doing this. "

Really?
I can
I can easily see many of not most doing this same thing if it had been a common place media in their time.
Clinton would have held these sessions weekly
Reagan and W would have done it as well. Carter? who knows
I bet even Teddy would be right there.
Ike? I don't know but either he or JFK was first POTUS to have a televised press conference and the other had first televised SOTU.

I'm really fearful for our country when people hold a politician with a poor 3 year record on the economy up to a demi-god like status because he can ******** his way through (despite all appearances) a prepped interview.

It also brings into question the value of my degree when I see so many with almost no independent thought process. Are there degrees at UT where you just listen to crap, get assimilated into a singular mindset of thinking and the repeat and defend the mantra?

Is it so nice to not think for yourself? Some of you need to step out onto the South Mall, walk to the edge of the stairs, turn around and look up.

Five billion dollars of debt per day. He has a grasp of the economy alright. It's just R-rated to say where he's grasping it. Perhaps that is what the chill going up one's leg is all about.

Either your hard core knee jerk reaction affected your "brain" or you are babbling obamaspeak again.

Adding to the deficit: Bush vs. Obama
Since President Obama became chief executive, the national debt has risen almost $5 trillion. But how much of that was because of policies passed by Obama, and how much was caused by the financial crisis, the continuation of past policies and other effects? For this analysis, we worked with the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities to attach a price tag to the legislation passed by Obama and his predecessor. George W. Bush’s major policies increased the debt by more than $5 trillion during his presidency. Obama has increased the debt by less than $1 trillion. Read related article.

The R's won't see reality if it hit them in the forehead. Bush and his criminal buddies robbed the country blind. But, it is Obama's fault for not fixing their mess quick enough
