Has anybody actually used an iTrip (or equivalent?) I've wanted to get one, but I don't know if it would be worth it. Does it sound good through your speakers? Anybody who has used one, your input would be appreciated. Thank you.

My Dad has used the equivalent and they are O-VER-RA-TED..... It works, so you actually get to hear it, but it sounds like a craptacular FM station. If you're really curious, go pick one up at Best Buy, try it out and return it if you think it sucks (likely).

For adding an additional source, AUX input is the ONLY way to fly. I FM modulated my way along with my XM for a year and a half until a module allowing AUX input was developed for my car. Now the sounds is fantastic - and I can plug my iPod in too...

everything i've heard about them leans towards what boozehound just said. apparently they can't get a signal worth a damn in any large cities, but work pretty well on the open road, say, in west texas.

i have one, and it works well SOMETIMES. however, it hasn't picked out a good station in like a month, and i don't exactly live in a big city. i am so tired of dealing with it that my next car will require aux input that i can hook the ipod up to. i also have a belkin fm tuner, and that works a little better, but they're all pretty much crap.

iTrip is terrible... and they have a life expectancy of about 6 months max. Or the two I had did before I got wise.

If you don't have an auxillary jack, get the tape deck thingy. It's better than nothing and I couldn't imagine having to actually listen to the radio in my car.

i'll just echo what everyone else is saying

the Griffin iTrip is teh suck. fist of all, you need to add software to put a bunch of radio frequencies on your pod, then to be able to access them, you have to go to the playlist they are filed under, while changing the station on your deck to coincide with the FM signal. Now, try driving at the same time. This is not even to mention the horrible signal you will recieve, along with all of the static.

after i returned that, i got a Belkin tunebase with a flexible neck that fits into the charger. It was better, but the FM signal still mostly sucked

I went and got a new sony deck with an AUX input and had my 'pod hardwired. i went and bought the belkin charger witht the same flexible neck as the tunebase -- which actually lets you plug the AUX output line into it instead of the headphone jack for even better sound, so i can listen and charge at the same time in my car.

it has been nothing but fantastic since i;ve had it.

I have one and I actually like it. I have no problem finding a frequency (in Austin) that is fine. I also use it in my office to play through my office radio.

The only problem I have w/ mine is that it doesn't do well at high volume.
