that I blew out my ACL, MCL, and cartilage in my right knee. Oh, and Wichita Falls/Vernon were hit hard by a tornado. Terrible Tuesday indeed to me...

I remember that day... the violent storms that came thru N.Texas. I was new in my job in retail banking in N. Dallas and that horrible tornado roared thru WF wiping out part of the town and a WalMart. I remember the sky turning dark green and ominous as the storms worked their way thru DFW where warning sirens blarred and many took shelter. It was indeed a a terrible day.

I was going to say "Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play....

My grandfather owned a gas station in Wichita Falls, and was working when the tornado hit. He closed up shop, jumped in his truck and sped away about 10 minutes before the tornado hit that part of town.

Fortunately, he survived. His gas station was not as lucky.

My parents took me and a bunch of other kids to see the Rangers play Cleveland on opening night in Arlington that day...Jon Matlack vs. Rick Wise...

I was hanging out at my Shadowood apartment off of Taft because I'd quit my job at KFC job the day before, the one on Southwest Parkway. Just a teenager. My sister said "lets go see the tornado" and when we got on SW Parkway, we saw the biggest fattest meanest looking cloud I've ever seen. All 6 lanes of traffic were heading away from it - I joined them and my sister started freaking out about going back to the apt for her jewelry. I was driving and there was no way I was going back. We were lucky the tornado just missed the apt, tearing off some of the roof and knocking out our windows. The KFC was demolished and the manager had her leg broken but survived. Hell of a day.
