Big game tonight against the Corn Aggys. After our last matchup, there should be a stray elbow or two catch this guy across the nose.

Are you F’ing kidding me. Top 25 matchup is on LHN. Don’t get it here in Chicago. I’ll count on updates on here.

Must win for Horns to win Big 12 IMHO.

I was going to reply that every game is a must-win at this point, but I decided to look that up before posting. Turns out, it isn't true.

Assuming we hold on and win today, we will be tied with Kansas. They have a much easier schedule than we do leading up to our head-to-head matchup to end the season, so we have to assume they will win out. We can afford to lose one of our remaining three and still be just one back of Kansas heading into that last game.

The tiebreaker is head-to-head against the next-best teams in the standings. Right now, it looks like 3rd and 4th will be Kansas State and Baylor (not necessarily in that order). The Horns and Jayhawks both split with KSU. Thus, the tiebreaker will likely come down to the head-to-head record with Baylor. If we beat them on Saturday, we will be 2-0 against them, giving us the tiebreaker over Kansas (who split with Baylor). That will give us breathing room to lose the TCU game.

And if Kansas loses one between now and then, the TCU game could give us a chance to clinch before we play Kansas. It's time to start counting chickens!!!

Actually, as I think about it more --

Assuming we beat Kansas, we will each have a loss against the other, as well as losses against KSU and ISU. They also have losses to TCU and Baylor, while we have a loss to TTU. Given how the tiebreakers work, we can lose to TCU or Baylor to end the season in a tie with Kansas, but be ahead in the tiebreaker. Thus, the only must-win game left on our schedule is Kansas.

Of course, winning them all would be preferable.
