issue with taping on my Time Warner DVR...

For the past two nights, I have taped the Olympics, starting at 7pm and going until 11pm. For some reason, when I go to watch it, the first half or so is not there- the bar on the bottom is half red and the show starts from halfway through. Even when I start watching it about halfway through, the first part of the track bar is red and keeps moving further and further down as i continue to watch. wtf? anyone ever had this issue? i keep trying to call, but their number is busy.
EDIT: i am now on hold with Time Warner - my estimated wait time in 34 minutes. anyone able to respond faster than that??

You might have too much saved. It will only hold a limited amount of video. If that's not the case, make sure you're not attempting to record 3 different programs -- it shouldn't allow you to do so, but if you're set up to record all episodes of something, it might screw up.

nah, not set to record more than even 1 program - just the Olympics. there's nothing else on anyway. also, my DVR is only 12% full. and i am still on hold.

I like the feature but there are some serious issues with their product performance.

If I try to tape a program that I am watching live I sometimes lose all signal and the taping gets **** canned.

Sometimes the P.O.S. just doesnt work. You can call them and tell them to bring you a new box. Ive done that, and it worked for a little while...

I hope you tried the first thing they always recommend to do, which works most of the time. Unplug unit. Wait a min. Plug back in. Wait for time to display. Turn on.
It always works for me. Last week I wasn't getting any sound from my recorded programs (even ones I had watched before). Unplugged, replugged, fixed.

I compare it to rebooting your computer when things start acting up, which I always tell everyone to do before calling me for computer support.

good call BNB. that does seem to always work.
didn't work the first time, but the second time when the TW tech told me to do it, it miraculously fixed the problem. dont know if they change something on their end as well.
btw, i have never really had a problem with my box until last night. i am in general very satisfied with my service. it's typical for these things to have glitches, especially when they are new (as is DVR service) - lord knows how many times i had satellite issues when i used it.

The red bar thing happened to me when I started to record a program while in progress.

The next night I set the DVR to record ahead of the start time and had no problems.

I had a problem with mine a couple of weeks ago. Would say it was recording something but then after recording there was nothing there. Also i could rewind and play or any of that ****. Couldnt figure it out was always on hold for like 15 min when i would call. Well the power went out at my appartment for a while a week or so ago, and wouldnt you konw the DVR was working fine after that. So i guess the unplug and reset does the trick pretty well.
