Is your new HD flat screen already outdated?

I just inherited a 50" Samsung. It is only 720p but it has a great picture and is way better than the standard 36" tube I had prior. I know that in many circles my new tv is outdated but for me it is awesome and it was free. It gives me some time to figure out what the next one will be and after the dust settles with newer technology. But that does not really end, does it?

My tv is outdated but I love it and it serves me well.
 
I'm still sporting my 27" tube box, so I know I'm way outdated.

This was mainly an information post for those that are buying one for the holidays to look for the stereoscopic feature and not fall too fast for the deep discounted specials.
 
PS3 will be upgradable according to the article.

Another reason why PS3 blows xbox out of the water.
