I didn't post it last night, as it looked to be a bit unconfirmed, but there was some recruiting sites buzz last night that a very late push was coming from Auburn on Tim Irvin and that he might be wavering. It hasn't gone away this morning, but Burton who reported it said this morning that he feels a bit more confident that he would still commit to us, and that he wasn't changing his crystal ball prediction.
Tim Irvin was the least solid among the Florida Five, and really firmed up to us only after Florida was sure to fire Muschamp. He is supposed to be extremely close to Tavaris Robinson who is going to Auburn with Muschamp now. So the Auburn push makes sense. Even Charlie may not be able to withstand the Tavaris Robinson pull. But Tim Irvin has not visited Auburn, and has completed his 5 OVs. And Tavares is not even at Auburn yet for him to suddenly commit to them after a quick change of heart. That sounded a bit far-fetched. So there was a chance that he might delay his decision. And sure enough, he was the only one among 15 guys who had not informed NBC TV guys for sure that he was committing today.
But it feels like it may not be as serious an issue, as of this morning. But who knows. We will wait and watch. Even if he commits today, we will need all the help from the rest of the Florida five to keep him with us till NSD, but a commit would be certainly better than a postponement of decision by him.
