... the worst ******* sound EVER? Especially when you want quiet? Because it's pretty much getting on my ******* nerves right now.

Sorry, all. Had to vent.

Feel free to respond, though, because it is actually an intereseting question. I hope all vacuum cleaners die a slow, painful death.

electric leaf blower. I have one and love what it does, but man it kills my ears.
 
gecko, my 3 month old usually goes down for bed pretty well, but tonight she cried for about 40 min. This happened right after I said leaf blower.
 
THEU - I feel for ya' man....that is a distant memory for me. I don't know how I ever got through that period in my life (did it 3 times).
 
hard for me to complain really gecko. before she was 3 months old (and she was 3 weeks early) she started sleeping for about 7-8 hours at night. Really can't complain at all. She is a happy baby and doesn't really cry or complain a great deal. She is a bit gassy, but she gets that from her old man.
 
I once met a retard who attempted to put her baby to sleep by laying the child next to the vacuum cleaner and then turning it on....
She said that the noise from the vacuum cleaner was like "white noise" and helped put the baby to sleep...

I said it's abuse... not sure on the decibel level - but it had to be enough to damage the child's ears... idiot.
 
Rotary paint grinder on outside metal surfaces while you're trying to sleep indoors.
I worked offshore for six years and by far the worst agony was when you worked night tour and they have the roustabouts grinding away during the day. Sounds like it's inside your head.
 
Harleys. And the thing that is so annoying is that they don't make noise out of necessity, they make noise because the rider is an attention *****. Ooh, look at me! Look how f-ing loud my motorcycle is! Look how much louder I can make it when I rev the motor for no good reason! No, you're an asswipe who didn't get enough attention in your formative years.
