McBrett, 2 things.
The topic was about saving the Republican party, and that was what my answer was geared towards. In order for the GOP to be a real conservative option, the deadweight needs to be trimmed/run off. If that means the party has to take a temporary hit, then so be it. We've tried the kinder, gentler theme, and it didn't work.
2nd, you are probably right about half the country not agreeing with me. The numbers prove it. Higher dropout rates, higher single parent homes, higher abortions and dozens of other examples of our society moving towards a more liberal/feel good/10 minutes of fame approach. More compromise is not the answer, because the more you give the more the other sides want/take.
Now, I know you won't agree with me, just because. But, take a look around at our society and tell yourself, we don't need more conservative values. And I'm not talking about gay marriage or abortion. I'm talking about people having pride in themselves and their families. Folks trying to live their American dream instead of living in a dream.
I wish we had a politician who came out as a IDGAF conservative. Because, if you don't give a F, then I don't either.
