If we are discussing recruiting top name/ranked players, you may be correct. If we are discussing Coach G's picks for her style of play, then you may be off a bit. True, Coach G's style is somewhat similar to Coach C, Coach C seemed to push her team into a style for which they were not fully capable of playing for 40 minutes. Coach G appears to be recruiting athletes who are capable of playing her style for a full season. We have heard some of the team comment that they are working harder than ever and are in the best condition than they have ever achieved. I don't remember many players from several to numerous years ago say the same thing.

So, yes there is a difference, but I think the talent is not as obvious with our first and second year players. I'll use the old aggie excuse, "Wait till next year."

My thoughts exactly. Great coaching doesn't always entail having the "#1" recruits. Coaching is an art. Choose the players that fit your style, mold them into what you know they can do, and WIN. The Horns' time is coming.....soon!!

Look at it this way. The class of 2005 was a top five class. Texas didn't even make the NCAA Tournament during Conradt's last two years. In Gail's first year, she led the team to the second round with Conradt's players.

We are going to have a legit post player next year and I think that everyone will be surprised by how much of a difference that will make. This team should be much better prepared to make a deeper run into the NCAA tourney.

Hoopgurlz released its top 100. Apparently, before the update, Bass was 82nd and Armstrong was 99th. In the new rankings, Armstrong moved up to 65th, but Bass isn't in the top 100.

Bass, however, may be a good signing because she is an in-state player. Given the talent in Texas and the familiarity of the players with one another, this could be a domino commitment.

Looks like Bass is at #106 for Hoopgurlz.

I don't recall seeing A.T. at all on Hoopgurlz for the 2008 class, but we all know what a gamer she is! Coach G knows what she likes, and I know Chelsea will have a great impact on our Horns team.

Again....welcome to the Longhorn family, Chelsea!!!

Theresa Plaisance (Vanderbilt Catholic / Terrebonne Parish, La.) 6-5 post, is still considering Texas and, i believe, will make a decision soon.
