or is the Big XII tournament going to be a complete toss-up? I mean ultimately it's probably going to be KU and Texas, but even that's not a given right now. I'm not sure that a 12-seed couldn't beat a 1 seed in this league on a given night. OK maybe a 10 seed.

Hard to argue at this point. I think the dust will settle as we go along and we'll see a couple of teams tank as we get closer to tourney time, but I do believe the separation between the top and the bottom is as little this year as it has been in a long time (which is saying something for the bottom considering how solid Texas and KU look so far).

I think come Big 12 tourney time, if Texas and KU have a #1 seed locked up in the Houston and St. Louis regions, respectively, it wouldn't surprise me to see a week 16/17 Indy Colt performance out of either of those teams and an early exit from the Big 12 tourney.

It's you, but there are some experimental medications that might help.

I was just saying last night how often teams can play with or beat teams at home that they would not have a prayer of beating at a neutral site. It's really quite remarkable. There aren't any easy road games in this conference.

Not a complete toss-up. Could, say, Missouri or K-State beat KU/Texas back to back? Yeah, I could foresee that.

But could A&M beat K-State/Missouri and KU and Texas? Probably not.

Let's say Tech plays Texas in the first round and wins -- hey, everybody, it's 2003! I don't think they're clearing two more hurdles. If, say, Baylor has to play four games? I don't think that's happening, somewhat like last year.

You'd have to see multiple second-round upsets. Possible, but not likely. IMO, the teams at the top are really good, not just roughly equivalent.

I'm with Crusher, as far as effort goes. Besides, even when it would have benefited Texas to bow out early, Barnes wouldn't think about it.

It's you and a couple of others right now, but not me. It could be a lot more people when tournament time comes around, including me.

'03 Tech he may not have officially told 'em to tank it but he sure didn't care if he won or not from where I was sitting. 'Course, I was way up in the upper deck and didn't bring the binocs...

I was close enough to see it all when he told 'em to cut the nets in San Antonio a couple weeks later so if we follow that same path, the other 11 can have all the fun they want at the B12 Tourney and let's roll with a #1 Seed to the Dance.

Hook 'em all.
