Is Connor Atchley hurt???

He just seems really really off this year. Very tentative and just off on effort. He had 0 points until some meaningless free throw attempts at the end.

It's called not having DJ Augustine getting you wide open three pointers (and by wide open, I mean no one within 10-15 feet). His defense is ok still. He does not play well against quick post players (like B Griffin).

I expected more from him this year, but I have come to accept the fact that he is what he is and that's not all bad. I accept the assertion that a good PG makes him a completely different player and that's something that we obviously don't have.

Duh... split tongue. Lost weight on liquiid diet, is getting it back. Barnes himself said he got winded on Saturday, so he lost conditioning because he probably couldn't run like he should have for at least a week.

That said, doesn't look confident in anything he does right now.

When we were down 4 or 6 with about 10 to go in the second half he had a ball go right next to him and couldn't be bothered to reach out and grab it, instead he waited for it to bounce all the way to his chest and it got taken away by an OU guy much further away from the ball then he was.

I stopped watching the game live a couple minutes later. Watched most of the game in serious tv mode when I could get back to it. He just looked disinterested out there.

The truth in this instance is more easily attained by shifting one's thinking from an 'either/or' mode to a 'both/and' position.

Yes, CA has been affected by the loss of DJ. In this respect, CA's performance this year serves as Exhibit A in the state's case that one cannot overestimate the impt of a good pt guard at this level. DJ's play elevated the performance of those around him--as did TJ's play.

However, if you don't think CA's play--esp the endurance/effort--part has been affected by injury/ies this year, I believe you are sadly mistaken. Barring additional injuries, we should be seeing 'the bottom', as it were, with respect to CA's play this year. To be sure, his ceiling is lower, given DA's departure, but I believe we will be seeing better things from CA than we have seen recently.

To date, CA's performance and Justin's shooting (esp FT's) have been among the more discouraging aspects on this year's team.
