Is BO this nuts?

IF this article is accurate BO is asking for a 33% increase in funds FOR THE FREAKIN UN

It cites budget numbers which can be checked with other sources .
OH yes let's borrow our great grandchildren's money for the Chinese etc and give it to the UN

How about we give the military a raise instead? The Link

This isn't just Obama. This is at the request of the Pentagon and all the neocon central planners (and yes, several democrats are included within the neocon banner). Africa has great resources and the US, China, Europe and the large multi-national corporations all hope to exploit that. The US is expanding its foot print nearly everywhere, including Africa. Imperialism doesn't come cheap.

It is an increase from $3 billion to $4 billion.

What is our defense budget?

I do not particularly know whether this increase is needed or justified, but it is sure seems like a drop in the bucket.

After you put so many "drops in the bucket" eventually the bucket overflows. We have overfilled nearly 19 trillion buckets already.

A billion here. A billion there. It starts to add up after a while.

Yes, Obama is that nuts.

This fits perfectly with his grand vision of globalism and reduced U.S. influence. We don't need a military because the U.N. is going to take over the World protector role.

I read that the U.S. Navy has less ships than anytime since 1917. In fact, Obama recategorized some very small Navy ships to pad the statistics.

In this case, it is not just BO. It is all of them. At a time like this to increase aid by $1B to the UN and another $1B to the Ukraine and many more like them, it is just insane and perfectly demonstrates why our system is so ****** up.

Only a fool would suggest that humanitarian aid to Africa helps our chances of landing business there. The regimes in charge are largely transitional. There is no formal agreement and they have NEVER not given the work to the low bidder- regardless of the amount of humanitarian aid that has been pledged.

Of course US firms want the aid to continue because the grunts on the ground make a big deal about it and it doesnt cost the companies anything but- and this is absolute first hand experience- it makes ZERO difference when bids are released. ZERO.

If every elected official were strictly term limited (as I have advocated for years) there is no way this would ever happen. But politicins are beholden to big donors. A $25K donation to a few pols results in $250M of the governments money to help the businesses. It is a HUGE racket.

The main reason I will be supporting Christie if he runs is for **** like this. People wonder why NJ was able to turn their finances around and Christie's use of the line item veto is the primary reason. he struck out virtually all spending add-ons to unrelated bills. Both dem and repub sponsored. No more hiding pork spending in the bills. It worked beautifully.

The UN debating section has had its anti american chorus for a long time---it is a good place to blow steam.

The UN itself has often been a major source of support for the US positions around the world. The Korean War was the first instance.

Keep in mind also that the US bugged every hotel in town in San Francisco at the founding of the organization and has used the place as a conduit for info from dissident kleptocrats et al since its founding.

If the government thinks sinking another billion a year into it is worth it, it probably is
