Is AM better off with Turgeon or BCG?

BCG was successful at A&M because he was able to get his players to buy into his system with the murderous practices and blue collar approach. He hasn't been able to do this with the kids at Kentucky but he really had the Aggie kids playing hard.

If Billy was still at A&M they would most certainly be better than they are now. That program seemed to be rising and gaining a lot of momentum. As of today, Ags everywhere are giddy as **** because they finished 6th in the Big XII and will just squeak into the NCAAs.

With BCG at A&M, with the same season as the Gomers had this year, most Aggies would be disappointed just like UT fans are with our results this year. However, Aggies can do nothing but touch themselves over being a mediocre basketball team.

Also, Gillissipe would have never acted like a whiny little ***** and played another poor Aggie victim like their current coach just did in the media.

Do you really think A&M fans are overaly excited about 9-7 in the Big 12 and a probable 9 seed?

A&M fans are excited because they won 6 games to finish the season just to make the dance. If don't think that's an accomplishment, then I guess your teams are always out front and never have their backs against the wall.

I had lunch today with a buddy of mine who is an Aggie and a big b-ball fan. He told me he doesn't want BCG. I asked if he was a spurned lover and he balked. He said BCG hasn't done jack at Kentucky. I in turn told him that it doesn't matter; is A&M better off with or without BCG. I think they are better off with BCG.

A guy like Billy Clyde was always looking for the next gig and was using Aggy as a stepping stone, so I am not sure how they would have been 'better' with him b/c he would have left eventually.

Turgeon doesn't strike me as a guy who is looking to get. He's a good coach. Aggy is a sleeping giant in hoops with their proximity to Houston. I am happy Aggy made it (or so it appears). They need something to keep their minds off their football team.

Time will tell, but....

BCG was here for 3 years. All 3 years he had A&M's best player ever, A&M's best big man ever, and A&M's best defender ever.

BCG was 49-16 in his best 2 years with victories over 5 top 25 teams

Turgeon has gone 2 seasons with no real point guard and is 48-19 with victories over 4 top 25 teams.

Not to mention the character of the two. In Turgeon's spare time I see him chasing around his kids at the park. In BCG spare time he chased around other peoples kids at the bars.

Also, regardless who is the better of the two, I think we can all agree Melvin Watkins is the worst coach in the history of College Basketball.

I guess you have to put it in the context of being 3-7, then winning 6 games in a row to get to 9-7. Who wouldnt be excited about that?

But overall, Turge has been pretty average. I don't like our defensive philosophy and he's pretty slow on making adjustments. But his recruiting has been pretty solid and it's not like A&M is taking steps backward.

Yeah, but aggy still has Kermit the Fraud, and the portly dude from Creighton as aces up their sleeve. Yeah, I remember now - Tony Baloney.

btw - While neither of Turgeon's teams have torn things up, they finished strong last year. This year is shaping up that way also.

Gotta wonder if BCG would have had a team take a second half pasting like A&M just did against Tech. Up 21, then lose by 5? Let one guy score 29 points against you in 9 1/2 minutes. And you don't double team him ever? Even though the entire rest of the Tech team didn't score in that same 9 1/2 minutes?

That was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on a basketball court.
