My biggest concern now is can the Iraqi Army/Police maintain the peace while the number of U.S. troops decreases. Recent developments do suggest that the Iraqi forces are performing much better than in the past, but it is still a very shaky situation.

Hopefully the Iraqi Parliament will continue to pass key pieces of legislation and let the political reconciliation advance.

Depending on how this plays out, David Petraeus could go down as one of the greatest American generals ever and possibly the most successful counter insurgent of modern times.

In terms of al qaeda, the invasion became an ironic, self-fulfilling prophecy.

My hat is off to Petraeus. Wish he'd been in charge earlier.
