Ipod troubles

About a month ago, I was given a 40gig Ipod. It's worked like a champ, but I've run into a problem that maybe some other Ipod owners might help me with.

The click wheel on my Ipod does not move the display. The buttons are still functional, but when I spin my finger around the wheel, the volume does not move, nor does the highlighted text in the window move to change settings.

I haven't gotten it wet. It's in a protective skin covering. I haven't dropped it. I still plays the songs, but I can't move the highlighted text from "shuffle songs". I can't change the volume.

Any ideas?

I have the reciept from Circuit City. Will they take it back? Can I take it to any Circuit City or does it have to be the one it was bought from?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks to all you guys who replied. I think I figured out my problem. It was actually by accident.

I toggled my "hold" switch back and forth a few times. Well, when I retried the click wheel, it worked!!!

I knew that the "hold" switch wasn't on because the buttons were working (menu, play, center button, etc.)

So, I guess I'll keep on truckin....

Thanks for the links, though. They will come in handy in the future.

I wonder if I'm qualified to be an "Apple Genius" now??
