Got my wife an ipod. The instructions say my comp has to have a hi powered usb 2.0 port which it doesn't have. Is there a cheap, easy solution for this?

yeah, or a usb 2.0, you don't have to have usb 2.0, i used my regular USB port for the longest before i went and bought a 2.0 port. It'll just take a little bit longer to upload files onto it.

My wife & I had the same problem when we got our iPods. Go to Fry's and pick up the $14 USB 2.0 card...took me 5 minutes to install.

my dad has a mini ipod and he can sync up through his USB 1.1 port it just won't charge, thus he plugs into a wall to charge it, but adding the USB 2.0 ports is probably the better way to go.

Thanks for the help everyone.

if your computer that you'll be attaching it to is a laptop, you'll want a PCMCIA usb 2.0 or firewire card, but it had better be one of the few that use a specific apple approved chipset or it won't work right. there's an info file on in in the ipod support area on apple.com. i had problems with this until i got my new computer; i couldn't transfer songs properly.
