Ipod Battery Replacement

i have a 2nd (maybe 3rd) generation Ipod, the battery does not hold very long. what are my options? can i send it in and have the battery replaced? can i buy a battery and do it myself? do i have to buy a new one? any ideas or suggestions are much appreciated.

You can either send it in or do it yourself. They sell batteries on ebay for about 30 bucks or so.

I have both, and luckily both mine hold a great charge. then again I charge and leave it charges as soon as I get home. I don't care what anyone says, this works for "Me". you mileage may vary.
