Ok. I,ve had to replace these things four times in the past year and apple stopped paying after the first one. They've been falling apart, shorting out, making buzzing noises.

Does anyone have a decent aftermarket version for the iphone?? I've seen some online that boast improved performance, but im interested in durability as well.

Thanks

I bought the VModa and loved them... and then they died spontaneously after about 4 months of use. After doing some research, this is apparently a fairly common thing.

I think the next time I buy some, I'm going to go for these:The Link

Good grief. I have an iPod and an iPhone and the ear buds have never had any problems. The iPod buds have lasted for years. What wear and tear are you putting on them? I run a couple of times a week too.

I go through the stock earbuds about every 6 to 8 months. I run nearly 50 miles per week with them. The buds work but the rubber coating around the buds wears off and they no longer stay in my ears.

I bought the Shuffle about two years ago for running. The ear buds lasted about 4 months and the shuffle died a few months after that.

Last year I bought a Nano and rarely use it for running. But when I do I use other brands of headphones. I've been a runner for years and found that headphones never last for long.

Perhaps you should buy a set of earbuds with irreplaceable ear pieces. I've been happy with the Shure E4 I got about 3 years ago. I don't jog so I don't know how well they stay in for this but I've never had any problem with using them while mowing or other work around the yard.
