iPhone / Bluetooth

I own the original iPhone and love it, but my main complaint is its lack of support for most (read: almost all) of the Bluetooth profiles. Did they correct this with the iPhone 3G? Just wondering, since I'd be willing to upgrade if it now supported the A2DP profile.

As you've undoubtedly already noticed, the 2.0.x software on the v1 hardware has not enabled any new functionality.

I believe they're intentionally (for better or worse, mostly worse) only allowing headsets.

My husband owns the iPhone 3G. He wouldn't be caught dead with a bluetooth on his ear .... BUT, we recently bought a really nice bluetooth, hands free speaker (clips on the visor) for his car that works fantastic with his phone (name of it is Contour Surface Sound Compact Car Kit). Here is the link .... a little pricey but well worth the $$$. WORKS GREAT and has some nice features built in. Good luck! Bluetooth Car Kit for iPhone 3G
