iPhone 2.0.2

Released today. All it says is that it is for "Bug Fixes" but my phone does run a lot faster since 2.0 was released.

I noticed a little performance improvement, mostly just responsiveness in scrolling contacts, for example. I don't know what else might be affected by the new release.

Lots of reports on the various blogs that 2.0.2 slowed down their phones even more, esp the laggy keyboard (my primary complaint). I think I am going to sit this update out and wait for Apple to get their **** together. Between mobile-me, 2.0, and 3G problems Apple's had a rough last couple months.

Does anyone else have issues with emails not coming in? It just sits at connecting sometimes. I have to turn off the phone and it corrects itself. I have the original I-phone.

I have that EXACT problem with the emails not coming through. I have to restart my phone at least twice a day to fix it. Only solution I've found so far.

Given the number of complaints, I'm amazed it hasn't hit Apple's bottom line. People are still buying the phone. I guess the pros out weigh the cons... but seriously, I can't log on to the internet w/o seeing some sort of blog/story/message on IPhone concerns....

Is the email issue seen when using mobile me or is with other email sources, such as Exchange? I have very few issues with Exchange and 2.0.1. The keyboard/search lag is another issue. Oh yeah, cut and paste. Oh, and MMS. Oh, and Verizon was much more reliable in my most frequented parts of town.

But yeah, overall, not too shabby for a 3G smartphone.

I too have to restart my phone twice a day because email gets stuck. I drop about 50% of my 3G calls in Houston. Browsing contacts is very slow. Overall a great device, but they have some major bugs to work out.

Firmware 2.1 may be released as early as today with the other announcements. I know they have been working on this lately.
