Iowa State 71 Texas 56

Very gracious in giving credit to iowa st. I really hope she gets the chance to coach Stafford and a fully healthy team, because I think she do some really good things at this institution.

I understand on this week's edition of Gameplan with Gail Goestenkors (Mondays, 7:00 pm on LHN) she is going to review the ISU game film and explain how to update a resume.

Of the games she's coached here at Texas, id love to know what her record is with everyone in the lineup. It's very hard IMO to judge a coach based on games when they didn't have all of they're expected weapons. And I'm not talking about the pure "role players" let us not lose sight of the fact that Cassie would probably be the starting pg right now if healthy. So with injuries playing such a key factor I'm not ready to cut ties just yet

We have more then enough talent still to be good. We are not competing hard for 40 minutes. Thats lack of motivation to me! How all of sudden , you lose sight of getting the ball in to the Post. The post has not scored well in the last 3 to 4 games. That should have been correct in the 2nd half of the 1st game of the problem being noticed. This the most talent we have had, since GG been here. And the worst record so far! Something not clicking at Texas. I was one of her biggest fans, when she arrive. But as human we make mistakes. And evidently this hire was a mistake. The record speak for it self. I dont mean to be mean. Be We Are Texas!
And that stand for something!

You said it right, she recruited all of them. So it was obviously in the plans to have all of them healthy and on the court. Don't get me wrong, I'm not at all happy about being in the bottom of the conference but to me changing coaches is not the answer. If she was under performing with all of her weapons then I would be all for a change, but I do believe that she is owed a chance to see what she could with everyone healthy

For someone that coaches a team and doesn't let them use injuries for an excuse, you get on a web board and it's in the subtext of every point you make. I think your credibility is a little weak. In my estimation we are a fundamentally bad basketball team because of the following stat line:

Points in the paint-UT 24,ISU 32. Points off turnovers-UT 16,ISU 22.
Points in the paint-KS 32,UT 14. Points off turnovers-KS 18,UT 5.

Injuries don't make you fundamentally bad. Learning not to turn the ball over has nothing to do with being healthy, especially when you are starting two senior guards who have been in the program for 4 years. As for points in the paint I'm sure you'd like to lay that on injuries but that's kind of a joke to me when you barely play one post player in a home loss to KSU and you have put two other players on the bench who seem very healthy to me in favor of two players that are contributing nothing offensively.

I don't like to watch losers, but I can stand it when I see someone out there trying and getting better. This team is not doing that.

You're absolutely right, I dont allow my team to make excuses but that doesnt mean that I cant reationalize to myself why certain things happen. Injuries absolutely impact turning the ball over when you're missing 2 guards and only have 3 available! You would be shocked by some of the things that have a huge impact on your team and their attitude that are outside of our control as coaches. Thats a dynamic that I would need days to explain. I just make sure that I point out the things that are outside of GG's control. I could say it until im blue in the face but at the end of the day you would actually have to live the life to understand. Im just simply saying she has yet to have a team of fully healthy players at her disposal, and should be judged accordingly. Do I still think and expect us to finish this season strong and make the NCAA tournament? Of course, however do I think her job should be in jeapordy? NO

It's like you and I watch two totally different games. I get that if you're tired you might turn the ball over because you're having to play the whole game. I watched the entire game against KSU last week at home that wasn't what was happening with turnovers. The players you have at your disposal should be able to play at a higher level than what we are seeing <PERIOD> She doesn't need to lose her job but the woman needs to get off her *** and re think her approach to the game. Screaming at players, looking exasperated and dropping the F Bomb in the middle of the court during a game only goes so far. While I can appreciate the passion it is obviously not resonating with your team. Find something that does work. And for God's sake, if lack of players is truly your problem send one of your coaches over to the Rec Center and find some of the girls playing pick up to help you out. Jerritt did this exact thing last season when he was short of defensive specialists, they put Brissa Ochoa on the roster from club. With a university population of 50,000+ students you can't tell me there aren't some girls on campus that could give you a few minutes of play. But it sort of makes your wonder if the woman making 1,000,000+ is like her defenders on this board too busy thinking about what if and not trying to work with what is.

I agree with you 100% on the change of approach. I said the exact same thing while watching the Kstate game, because she was yelling and it seemed to fall on deaf ears and the ones who were listening and motivated by the speech werent in the game. Shes been doing this for a while so hopefully she has something in her bag that will get it going. She's done it before and hope she can replicate whatever tactics she employed after we started 0-6 and got us to .500 for the season.

Is GG so arrogant that she doesn't recognize that perhaps she and her ineffective methods are the problem? From an outsider's perspective, it sure seems that way. Nothing has changed...except we have gotten worse! Getting yelled at constantly is not going to make the team play better. In fact, it might just have the opposite effect.

I've been hammering this for YEARS..... what works at Duke does not necessarily mean it works at Texas. Arrogance... yes, to the nth degree.

If it don't fit! Don't force it.
And if Texas continue to keep her, they are forcing the issue.
Once again I don't think her players are motivated to play for her.
