Ok... so I have two interviews in the next two days. I'm sure some of you out there are in there are in the interviewer seat, so give me some pointers on how to kiss ***.
1) Be early to the interview, you never know what additional paperwork they might want.
2) Look professional.
3) Have extra copies of your resume on paper. Extra nice to have it in electronic form, too
4) Be honest, especially when they ask "what is your greatest weakness?" Don't be afraid of saying what your strengths are.
5) Know what it is that you want from your job, your boss and the company.
6) Have some followup questions for them.
#s 4, 5 & 6 helps you to interview them at the same time they're interviewing you.
Just be honest and yourself. Lord knows that I've interviewed enough the last couple of years to know that future employers like knowing the person they're about to hire right off the bat. Answer all their questions and be confident. They wouldn't have asked you to interview if you didn't stand out in some way - make sure you stand out even more after the interview (in a good way, of course).
As soon as you can in the interview, ask what kind of person, skills etc. they are looking for. If they like to talk they will basically tell you how to answer the questions.
Behavioral interview seem to be the thing now. Be prepared to tell about situations, like a time when you had to deliver bad news etc.
