Interview with DeLoss Dodds

That article should be required reading for every delusional aggy out there... so yeah, pretty much all of them.

Nevermind. Just killed a few brain cells visiting TexAgs and of course... they don't get it.

But wasn't the real reason the fact the PacXX didn't want the LHN in present form and that couldn't be resolved?

The travel wasn't that much of an issue as we would have been in a division with OU, OSU, Tech, CU, AU, and ASU. Not that much different then Big12 (original).

That's an excellent interview. DeLoss Dodds has won my respect over the years. He answers the questions honestly, whether to the press or to Joe Fan. I have interviewed him in the past, and I feel he is open and truthful when he answers.
He created the deal for the Tier 3 rights, and all the other schools have gone apopletic over it. They can go out and do their own deal, and as stated, A&M showed no interest in the concept at its inception. They were very short-sighted.
When you are a big dog, they chihuahuas like to nip at your heels. It is the same with Notre Dame, maybe a handful of others.
Good interview.

Seattle,

I agree with you about Dan Beebe. That was one of many blunders and I'm glad that he resigned. No matter what, it's a shame that all of this has happened.

Tier 3 TV rights for 2009 in the Big 12;
KU $7.3M
OSU $6.4M
NEB $4.4M
Mizzo $4.0M
KSU $3.3M
ISU $2.6M
Texas $337K (thousands)
OU $317K
TAMU $0
TT $0

Total $28.7M

I can see about $26 million reasons why nobody wanted to share Tier 3 revenues prior to 2010

Good for you DeLoss & LHN

oh yeah, it's all about the kids, we love the kids, we needed to get the kids some exposure.

the $ part of all this never really mattered. it's just that we love all 550 of our kids.

Deloss cant win for loosing. I was on some other fan boards, and no matter what he says or does, he is a lying, greedy, arrogant bastard. But I think Seattle Husker made Deloss's point. It might have been proposed by UN to sign over all rights, but it was never "officially" on the table. Also, could someone tell me who proposed the Big 12 network, what the vote was, and why it was voted down? Seems to me that nobody wanted the Big 12 network til the LHN came to existence. Now they want us to share.
