Interstate Movers?

Here's my situation. My wife and I are moving from Philadelphia to Houston in two weeks. We won't have much stuff, but enough that it will exceed a 6X12 trailer. Basically, we're getting rid of most of our stuff and starting over when we get there. We've been looking and reading about certain movers on a website called ripoffreport.com and its amazing to me how many "questionable" companies are in the moving business. We've read a lot of horror stories.

Given what I've described, does anyone have any suggestions based on your experience? I need advice fast. Thanks very much in advance.

We moved back from Kiladelphia a few months ago and used ABF's U-Pack .

It cost us about $1200 to move back in Novemeber.

They typically drop their trailer in front of your address, you throw your crap on, and they charge you per foot. They then drag it across the country and put the trailer in front of your new address.

The only drawback is that they likely won't be able to drop the trailer off in Philly (if you live in Philly proper) because of PPA etc., and you'll have to take your stuff out to the freight hub yourself (which is out in NE philly).

If you end up doing that I highly recommend mambo movers to get the stuff out there.
