I am currently looking for a new internet provider and need help.
Roadrunner is fast but I have heard numerous complaints about it not working. 29.95 for 6 mos and free installation in Houston right now.
EV1 slow but cheap
Dsl don't know much about.
I want it to be fast but don't want a huge bill.

Also, I hate my time warner digital cable. The HD only has like 6 channels, slow moving between channels and a bad picture on normal channels. Also my color goes out on certain channels every once in a while. I pay like $80 a month for it. I wouldn't mind changing this if I can find hd, hbo, and all my other channels for cheaper.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I have rr and digital cable with a dvr with Time Warner in SA.

The rr service was steady for the first 2 years, then it started dropping the connection sporadically (once or twice a week, then progressing to multiple times per day). After about a month or 2 it reached the point where I couldn't live with it, so I called it in. They scheduled a service call, but they told me I could bring in the cable modem for a replacement if I wanted to try that. I did, and I haven't had any trouble since then.

Time Warner has come out multiple times to try to improve the digital cable. It mostly works fine, but the picture frequently has the blocky effect that is typical of this technology.

In short, I would not hesitate to recommend rr to anyone.

Is EV1 dsl or cable?
I use time warner rr because I use all the bandwidth, but I suggest to everyone else to use sbc, because it is 20 dollars cheaper and they don't d/l movies, music, etc.

So, it depends on whether you use it to surf the web or d/l alot of stuff.

Cable is bad if you have alot of households in your are using it, as it shares bandwith. Where dsl does not.

I get the blocks, etc evey now and then, but if you get it alot you should have them come out and check the signal strength (free).
