hey guys - I want to ship a Smoker to HK but not by air (expensive) - does anyone in their biz have the ability to do overseas shipping in a cheap way or know a good way?

TY

check with some of your local freight forwarders in the city where you are shipping the smoker from. They might be able to consolidate it with another shipment that is going via ocean container and get you a cheaper rate. I do sales for FedEx and yes, it would be expensive to send it via air.

I can understand the desire to get a real smoker to HK, but it's going to be very expensive. Can you get any kind of charcoal or gas grill there? Using indirect heat methods you can do a very good brisket, etc, with one. Also, not sure if this is an issue, but in much of the US you're not allowed to use anything with an open flame on an apartment deck or patio for safety reasons. Not sure if that's an issue there, but it's something to keep in mind.

If it has sentimental value finding a F.forwarder to consolidate is the least expensive way of doing it. If you PM me and give the specifics I will ask ours on a guesstimate for you.
I agree with Bigwill, If you are just trying to have one there...I assure you can have it made there so much cheaper and you could add all the extra things you've always wanted on it.
