Seems unlikely. I don't think Barnes would hire a "Muschamp" type of guy because Barnes has no ambitions to be anything other than a head coach at a major university. I doubt he's in a "retiring" mood. I also doubt he'd be apt to move to another position unless he was forced out, so I'm not sure Lanier would hold any allegiance to us if we did that to Rick.

I agree that I find this difficult to believe, but regardless of the validity of it, I also find it rather odd that Donovan is commenting on what other schools plans are.

He is just trying to come up with excuses for why his assistants left for "lateral" moves... the UT gig can't be superior to being a gator

Lanier is a great recruiter, but his resume is not filled with achievements as a head coach. If RB departs or retires, his replacement likely will be a successful young head coach.

That's really strange. He seems to be the only person in the world with this "scoop." Maybe he should quit to become a sports editor in waiting.
