Interesting Simms article

Dude just made $7 mill in the last two years. I'm not too worried about the guy. It's going to take me the rest of my career to even come remotely close to that kind of cash.

Simms to Dallas would be interesting. He'd definately be a solid #2 and you know he'd push Romo as he's been a starter before.

I'd love to see him in Minnesota with a supportive run game behind him. I think that would be a good fit for him and a nice change from what he used to have to do with the Bucs.

The best thing for Chris is to get out of Tampa Bay and the ****** offense that Gruden runs. Best of luck gunslinger

Everyone can take a lesson from Chris Simms on attitude. All the **** that kid has been forced to take over the years, and he still has a good attitude.

God bless him. He's one of the good guys. I wish him nothing but the best, and I hope he finds a good fit.

Texanne said it.

Am I the only one hoping he goes to Detroit to reteam with Roy?

Actually as a Lions fan and not too pleased with Kitna, I would love to see Simms as a Lion.

I'll echo what Texanne said about his attitude. I'll never forget the fan day when only he and Mack stayed till evrey one got an autograph, my little son included. I could hear the UT handlers saying he could go now and him shaking his head repeatedly, long after every other player had gone. The man has class and no UT athlete showed more than Simms during his time on the 40 acres. I will always root for him, even if he does beat my Lions for the &^%$@ Bucs.

TexEx, I hope you can still root for him as he beats your Lions while playing for the Pack (assuming Favre actually retires)

. I agree w/ Texanne also. I hope he doesn't have too much resentment to our fan base after the way he was treated here at times.

Nobody who likes Chris would want him to go to Detroit. The O-line up there is horrible.

I would love to see him get a chance to play again somewhere where the deck is not stacked against him. He is a great person, and a very hard worker.

I think that he would do really well in San Diego. Rivers is getting exposed for his lack of accuracy, and Chris would be an upgrade for their passing game.

Chris Simms worked his way to a starting job with an NFL franchise. He soldiered on with a ruptured spleen. He could never play another down and walk away with his head held high after four years of man-slamming by those in the ******* gallery (you know who you are). Rock on Chris.

I hope that the Bears would trade for him. God only knows that we could use a qb. He does deserve to hold his head up high after all those beatings he took for the Bucs.

Tampa with Gruden was probably the worst place Simms could end up in. He's a great person with incredible talent. I wish him nothing but the best because he's earned it.

I also have become a Simms fan. Daughter came in from Nashville for Spring Game just for the autograph session and - very late - he was there and posed for a great picture, leaning over table to get the best advantage for the camera.
Daughter was a big Applewhite fan - still is - but that was a great gesture and one which we will never forget.
Best of luck Chris

While at the University Chris never did anything on or off of the field to tarnish his family, himself and the Longhorn Nation. Whatever position one may have had on the Simms v Applewhite situation, it is important to remember that neither Chris or Major had anything to do with it. They both handled it with the grace, maturity and dignity that you seldom find in young men that age.

We were lucky to have both. The Heart of a Champion.

I think Chicago would be a great fit for him since they have this ever changing void at quarterback. He is surely better than anything they have now. He would have a defense that could get the ball back or at least give him a breather.

Simms is awfully young to settle for a certain backup role. I would think he would want to be in a situation where he has a legitimate shot at starting. Barring injury, that won't happen in Dallas.
