I was just about to post these links, and while I still belive that GG should be our coach It did surprise me to know that she would recieve and automatic contract extension because this is rather unusual. However, it will reaffirm the athletic departments committment to her being the coach.

And Tx, all contracts have buyout clauses but very few of them actually end up costing the universities the entire amount of the contract. Whoever negotiated her deal was quite crafty
 
My sincerest apologies, I misread that portion of the article. I too remember it being referenced more than once that we would owe the remainder of her contract.

And since I am unfamilar with contract law, I would also like to ammend my statement to say that I have never heard of a D1 coaching contract without a buyout clause.
 
I noticed the Men's Swimming Coach is one of the lowest ones which is ironic because he is the only one that has got an NC the past several years for us.
 
No UTFann, you are the one who is happy with the extension. I get another year to point out why Goestenkors is not the right coach to bring Texas back to the Elite.

Oh how convenient...the auto extension will happen on APRIL FOOL'S DAY!
