Installing new counters and looking for faucet's

We are finally getting the granite installed in our kitchen and bathrooms this week! We are excited, but now we have to go and pick out new faucets. Is the best place to do this at Home Depot or Lowe's? That just seems too simple to me. Can someone give me some insight into where the best place in town is to get some facuets at a fair price.

Not sure what city you are in but you can look at some nicer stuff than they have at HD or Lowes. If in DFW, try the Expo or Great Indoors. Those stores have a good range of fixtures from the expensive stuff to the more affordable.

if you're looking for standard faucets - such as delta, moen, american standard, etc. you will do better to buy them yourself at one of the do-it-yourself stores you mentioned. i would pick them out before the granite is complete and have the granite people drill the holes. if a plumber drills them, they might not want to take responsibility if something goes wrong with the granite.
i'd definitely go 8" spread in the bathrooms and single hole for the kitchen faucet (+1 for an air gap - if needed where you are, and 1 if there is a soap dispenser, etc), but then that is only my opinion

I bought mine on Ebay for like $160 versus nearly $300 at Lowes/home depot, but i was patient and knew what I wanted

I bought my bathroom faucets on Ebay also. Saved a lot of cash.

Go to any Home Depot, and in the Kithcen and Bath dept ask to see the Depot Direct faucet catalog, there are THOUSANDS of choices, in ever finish and style imaginable, and almost all will be shipped to your house in 2-3 days at no extra cost. Much much bigger selection than whats physically in the store.

I get Danze from faucetsdirect. I've been extremely happy with them.

Due to time constraints, I ended up going the HD/Lowe's path. I actually bought some at Lowe's and some at HD b/c they had a different selection. I would say Lowe's has the best selection in store though. We ended up going with the 8 in. in the bath's and single with sprayer in the kitchen. Down side is we paid top dollar. I think next time I will try the Ebay route.
