Installing gutter gaurd

so I'm getting bids on gutters for my house.... these people want a decent amount of coin for putting the gutter gaurd on there as well.... is this something I should just do myself with stuff from Home Depot, or is it worth the additional $300 or so to have the gutter people install it?

If you have a 1 story house and the gutter is not hard to access, put the gutter guard on yourself. You can get the solid plastic mesh type at home depot. Its pretty cheap, I thinkit is aroud $1 for a 3 foot section. It is easy to install. One end slips under your shingles, the other clips into the gutter.

Do you have trees overhanging the roof? If not, do not get them.

it's a one story house... only some minor tree overhang over the roof.... but I have like 4 large trees that all lose their leaves at different times of the year and the leaves blow all over the place... they most certainly will wind up on the roof...

Where can you get gutter guard for 300.00? My bid for Gutter Helmet was around 2000 not including the gutters! Leaf screens were about 300 bucks. Can anybody recommend a place in AUstin? I've gotten bids from Austin Affordable Gutters and AustinGutterman.

I'm talking about the HD stuff... not that whacky looking **** that people try to rip you off.... $2000 for the gutter helmet?? seriously dude that is insane for $10 worth of plastic..
