Inn at the Ballpark in Houston - opinions?

This summer I'm traveling to the Bayou City and plan to catch two or three Stros games. I was thinking of staying at the Inn at the Ballpark, just across the street from MMP, essentially so I do not have to fight the Houston traffic getting to and away from the game (a mistake I made some 4 or 5 years ago when visiting H-town). Any HornFans out there who have stayed at the Inn? If so, thumbs up or down? If you would not recommend it, any other recommendations for downtown Houston hotels close to MMP?

For my money, I would pick The Alden, Hotel Icon, The Magnolia or the Lancaster before picking the Inn at the Ballpark. You can still walk to the game and you'll be staying at much better hotels that aren't owned by someone named Fertitta.

I think it is a great place to stay, made even better by the proximity to the ballpark. Rooms are very nice and quite large. Would stay there more often for business, but I hate to not get points.

I agree with txhookem, stay at the magnolia or icon, much better value. you are pretty isolated at the inn at the ballpark. there's nothing in its immediate vicinity aside from vic & anothony's and the ballpark.

I agree with hornimal. It's a decent hotel, but there's not much in the vicinity other than the ballpark.
