There's even another scenic golf course immediately adjacent to Inks Lake State Park.
Nice day trip to Enchanted Rock State Park near Llano.
This is the area where I live my life and I recommend it even for short visits.
Buchanan dam, just a couple of miles away, might be worth looking at.

The exposed granite rocks and hills, as your get close to Inks Lake coming from Burnet, are said to be some of the oldest rocks exposed on the surface of the Earth.

In scouts int he late 60's, Inks Lake St. Park was our favorite. We went there to swim in Devil's Hole, jump off Devil's Rock. It was a right of passage for a 12 year old. Allsome.
